Hello there!
Crochet & Knitting
The positives of blogging showed themselves today. I thought I hadn’t done much since I only worked on two projects, but I did a lot. At least, it feels like I did. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The sleeping blanket
This is the WiP that has been sleeping for so long. It was actually that long that my tension has changed. I made a few squares and couldn’t understand why they were so much bigger. And I was sure the hook I used was the same because it never left the bag, plus I have a picture of the hook and the first square.
No sweat, I changed from 5.0 mm to 4.0 mm, and all is good.
This is the project that surprised me. I had done 28 squares before I woke it up from hibernation. Right now, the count is 78.
I worked on it during the last week only. During long meetings, thinking sessions, catching up on youtube, etc. For some reason, my crafty youtubers publish so many videos like the world is about to end. Calm down, people; I can’t watch twenty-hour-long videos in a day~.
Just kidding. There is no rush anyway. I don’t enter giveaways, so if I watch that video a month after it has been released, the world will not collapse. Or so I heard.
Anyway. As you can see, none of them new squares has ends woven in. I’ve decided to take it in waves. Finish all squares, weave in all the ends, add edging and then put the whole thing together.
The current goal is 80 squares, with blanket dimensions of 10x8. But I have some scraps that might produce a few more squares. So maybe it will be 12x7; who knows. Nothing is decided yet.
I asked my artist friend to put the squares together, mainly as a joke because there are solid, variegated, and mixed squares, and the number is sort of random for each type and colour. But he came up with an exciting setup. So I will try it once all the squares are neat and ready.
Vanilla socks
Well, well, well, if it isn’t knitting again.
I finished the heel on the second sock because I needed a small and brainless project for a weekend trip. So I rushed through the heel, and I thought: Yep, yep, I am going to do the heel for the second time; I will not need the pattern info again after I make it. WRONG. The heel is not that easy, and there are almost random numbers to remember.
But that’s okay; I went to college, and all college graduates got a paper that confirms they can cram random info and sustain it for some time. I know I can do it if needed.
I managed a few rounds on the trip but not much since I was awfully active and social.
Cotton backpack
This is something I worked on quite a LOT. But all the attempts are back in their respective skeins.
Designing stuff is a pain, and the frogging time is not fun.
Acquisitions
None! Yay!
See you in the next post ~
